Winterfest was great again this year.  The best thing was the five precious souls that put their Lord on in baptism:  Jenna Beckler, Lensey Johnson, Matthew Thompson, Karly Turner, and Caleb Wooten.  The theme of the weekend was “The Veil.”  The speakers did a great job of covering all of the aspects of how the word “veil” is used in Scripture.  The first was that Satan tries to take our minds captive and he blinds us to the light of God’s word in our life.  Our students were challenged to see the world through God’s eyes and adopt a biblical world-view.  The second was the veil that was a central part of the Jewish temple.  The veil represented the separation between God and man and that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross split that divide between us and God.  Finally, we wrapped up our weekend with my favorite passage in scripture:  2 Cor. 3: 16-18.  This is the picture of how the Christian, when beholding the glory of Christ, is being changed into the same glory.  What a weekend!  Thanks to our adults who gave up their weekend and to our teens, who paid attention so well.
